I woke up at my aunt’s house in Anaheim feeling more rested than I had all trip.  We all had our own beds last night, which resulted in some amazing sleep. We headed out to Huntington Beach at about 12:30.  It was absolutely gorgeous outside and the area wasn’t too crowded, due to it being New Year’s Eve. We found a parking spot about two blocks from the pier and walked down towards the surf shops.

We spent some time looking around the surf shops at sale items before heading down the pier towards Ruby’s.  We requested a spot upstairs (which I definitely recommend) and took some photos on the end of the pier while we waited.  After about 15 minutes we were seated at a booth spot with a perfect ocean view.  I ordered the fish and chips and Kassidy they split the seafood sampler with Clancy.  Our meals were absolutely perfect!

Our initial plan when we began our day was to try and make it to Zuma Beach near Malibu for sunset, but there was absolutely no way that that was going to happen, as it took us well over an hour to drive about 20 miles north on PCH, so we settled on Manhattan Beach.  We saw the last sunset of 2014 beneath the pier and then we headed back to Anaheim.

Today was much needed as we’ve been going to pretty hard for the last week.  It was nice to just chill out and be on vacation for a bit!
